Ryan Turell aspires to be the first Orthodox Jew to play in the NBA and has already made history by being the first Orthodox Jew to play in the NBA G League when he was drafted in the first round by the Detroit Pistons G League affiliate, Motor City Cruise, where he is reendowed worldwide for being the first American professional basketball player to ever wear a yarmulke while he plays. As a senior at Yeshiva University, Turell led the nation in scoring averaging 27.1 ppg while shooting a sizzling 59% FG and 47% from 3. For that, he was named the Division 3 Player of the Year. Despite all the on-court accomplishments Ryan has achieved in his career, what makes him so unique is how amazing of a person he is. Ryan will be joining us again as our head trainer this summer and is excited to meet and train the next generation of Jewish basketball stars.
